This month 31 years ago, Chinook Zulu Delta 576 crashed in poor weather conditions on the Mull of Kintyre near RAF Machrihanish. All 29 people on board died. It was the worst RAF loss in peacetime. The two airmen were initially scapegoated for the crash, but after a long fought battle by their families they were cleared. But the files have been sealed for 100 years. The Chinook Justice & Dr. Susan Phoenix and families in Lagan Valley deserve, at the very least, the truth. I'm right with them in their fight to get it.

Attended the Combined Graduation Parade at the AirForce Academy , Dindigul. I went more to relive the nostalgia of having gone with my parents to see my own brother , Chama Vinod Kumar , passing out as a young Air Force fighter pilot in 1979 , when I was only 11 years old. He passed away in a MIG21 fighter aircraft crash in November 1983. H’ble Union Defence minister Sri Rajnath Singh took the salute and addressed the gathering. Saw the wonderful parade and march past of the cadets followed by the nerve racking air show by Helicopter , Sukoi 30 and Surya Kiran squad . Met Air chief marshal Sri AP Singh and ex air chief marshals Sri Vivek Chaudhari and Sri Browne . All in all , it was a great nostalgic experience for me to relive this after 47 years and felt tears welling out thinking of my brother !

You just had to be there for ‘W.I.T.C.H.’ — one or Jetix’s best shows ever. There’s a special bond for those of us who watched the series while it was on the air & collecting the comics. The TV show was unfortunately cancelled way too early, as it was handled poorly by Disney and it could have gone for at least another season, however the comics ran for 139 issues up until 2012. I’d argue it has aged better than its contemporaries and that it was ahead of its time. Did you have any of the magazine issues?

"Carol Vorderman MBE formally comes to the end of her 10 year commission after becoming the first female Honorary Group Captain and Ambassador for the RAF Air Cadets in its history in 2014." After a properly lovely chat and a cuppa with Chief of Air Staff Sir Rich Knighton and his immensely kind words last week, I'm a very happy woman. I've been formally involved in RAF Air Cadets and other aspects of RAF life for 10 years which has gone like the wind (no pilot pun intended). I am a pilot with a degree in Engineering, and have been a huge supporter of STEM & young people and education all of my life & I felt I could help as the first female Ambassador for RAF Air Cadets. Both of my children were cadets and Katie spent 4 years in RAF Air Squadron when she was at Cambridge. It’s been a wonderful 10 years and every moment spent with our Cadets & the incredible volunteers who run it at squadron level has been special, from being on camp with them at RIAT Royal International Air Tattoo to witnessing the incredible Musical abilities of so many young bands, from Space Camp, and them lining the red carpet and being on stage with me at the Pride of Britain Awards, to taking them to America to celebrate the F-35’s early days with Lockheed Martin. The 1 Group Carol Vorderman Award was created for the person within 1 Group who has voluntarily provided exemplary work for the Air Cadets each year and I felt hugely honoured for that. Thank you Air Cadets for some wonderful memories. I wish you all the very best for the future. But my association doesn't end here. I've worked with RAF Charities for almost 20 years including helping to raise money for the Bomber Command Memorial in Green Park. Hosting the Salute Area on the day of the memorial’s unveiling was an extraordinary honour. Here's to a vibrant future. Just a TINY number of happy pics from over the years.

As we see videos circulate online of Israeli airstrikes inside Iran, I would remind people about what the German Air Force chief said of Israeli Air Force strikes targeting Hamas in Gaza. The German Air Force chief went to Israel and reviewed their military plans, reviewed all the protocols they go through before every strike. As we do here in America, Israel has lawyers who review every strike for legality before it's conducted. And the German air chief said it is the most moral air force in the world. Israel has done more, he said, to preserve innocent Palestinian lives than any other air force would do in the circumstances. And we know that from the facts that have come out. Israel sends hundreds of thousands of text messages, issues hundreds of thousands of leaflets and flyers, issues maps on all of its websites which show the Palestinian civilians which areas will be attacked at which days and on which times. I was a football player. When you're on offense, surprise is the name of the game, and that's no less true in the military. Israel has relinquished the power of offensive surprise in order to preserve innocent Palestinian lives by telling Hamas exactly where it means to assault before it issues its orders. It has done so at great cost to the lives of its own soldiers in order to preserve and protect innocent Palestinian lives. What other country in the world would do that?

The South Florida airport was known as Palm Beach International for nearly 50 years, with the new name cementing President Trump's longstanding ties to the area, where he frequently travels and leaves Air Force One, and also owns the nearby Mar-a-Lago club. 🚨 Gaganyaan IADT-02 Completed!! ISRO has successfully conducted the 2nd Integrated Air-Drop Test (IADT) of Gaganyaan on today morning after the first one in August 2025! 🔥 The aim of this test was to validate the parachutes and other recovery systems on board Gaganyaan that are necessary for safely landing the Crew Module on Earth upon its return from orbit. In this test, the Crew Module, weighing in at 5.7 tons, was lifted by a Chinook aircraft and dropped from an altitude of 3 km over the Bay of Bengal near the Sriharikota coast. The Crew Module subsequently slowed itself down autonomously using a series of drogue and main parachutes, followed by a soft splashdown in the sea.

ISRO has successfully conducted the 2nd Integrated Air-Drop Test (IADT) of Gaganyaan on today morning after the first one in August 2025! 🔥 The aim of this test was to validate the parachutes and other recovery systems on board Gaganyaan that are necessary for safely landing the Crew Module on Earth upon its return from orbit. In this test, the Crew Module, weighing in at 5.7 tons, was lifted by a Chinook aircraft and dropped from an altitude of 3 km over the Bay of Bengal near the Sriharikota coast. The Crew Module subsequently slowed itself down autonomously using a series of drogue and main parachutes, followed by a soft splashdown in the sea.
