The way it's worded without assuming other things, the point of contact would likely be a pivot point and pull the car off the road and continue around the tree until it either goes to the end of the sword or the bottom of the sword, possibly spins around the tree endlessly.

The car would curve toward the tree at a displacement proportional to the friction between sword and tree. Depending on that, either it curves slightly, adding distance between the car and tree until it surpasses the length of the sword. Otherwise, the car would orbit the tree.
