Comparing ICE holding illegal immigrants to Japanese American citizens being ripped from their homes in WWII? That’s not just wrong — that’s sick. One group were American citizens with rights. The other group are people who broke into the country. There is no comparison unless you’re intentionally trying to deceive people. And Maddow knows exactly what she’s doing — she’s been running this same dishonest routine for years. She is so disgusting to even think people would fall for this shit. How quickly she forgets that not very long ago when a few dozen illegal immigrants were deposited at Martha’s Vineyard, her liberal comrades immediately had them forcibly removed and taken to the military facility at Joint Base Cape Cod.

THE COMPARISON IS ABSURD. Comparing ICE detention of people held for immigration violations to the WWII internment of Japanese Americans—who were U.S. citizens targeted by their own government—is a massive historical distinction. You can debate detention conditions and immigration policy. But pretending lawful immigration enforcement is equivalent to imprisoning American citizens based on ancestry erases the very history being invoked.
