I don't think AI editing needs to make editors disappear. It needs to make the distance between an idea and an editable timeline much shorter. GPT-6 Astra can take my editing direction, operate CapCut PC, and build the initial sequence from the footage. Then I can take over where judgment matters ... adjusting shots, pacing and captions independently on the timeline. Edit Pilot can even help with the next round of post-editing.
