The International Space Station has three high-tech science freezers called MELFI (Minus Eighty Degree Laboratory Freezer for ISS). We use these freezers to preserve science samples until they can be returned to Earth on a cargo mission.

@Space_Station Okay please don't talk to people like they are a stioppid. That turns intellectual people off.

@Space_Station そちらは、きぼうモジュールですか? 色々な実験装置がありますね! 床?に冷凍があると邪魔にならなくて便利⭕️ 今日も一日お疲れ様でした🫡

@Space_Station Amazing. Hey @JonnyKimUSA can we discuss the watches you brought with you to space and why you chose them?

@Space_Station Great post on MELFI! Is there still the -120F freezing capability (I recall it being up there during some stem cell research several years back)? Also, any -20?

@Space_Station I’m not aware of MELFI being able to get that cold, maybe @NASAScience_ can answer that one. We can definitely get to -20C. One of the dewars is set to +2C to act as a refrigerator for some of our eye pharmaceutical drops for OCT exams.

@Space_Station At ISS, do you rely on solar energy as the primary source of energy?

@Space_Station Yes, we do. We have 8 large solar arrays that supply us power and charge external batteries during insolation and when we’re in eclipse we get our power from those batteries.

@Space_Station Amazing, you are an inspiration sir 🔥

@Space_Station If you are thirsty while working, I can send you a glass of MH20, just write your wallet address.☺️☺️

@Space_Station Good.
