Nah, he knew what he was doing. In no universe has “put the food away” ever meant putting 4 pots in the fridge.

She shouldn’t have to say all that.. put the food away means clean up appropriately.. like if your wife said after a long day at work “I hung that client out to dry..” are you assuming she hung the wet client outside on the line to dry? No.

Umm, she didn't say put the pots away, now did she??.. Seems like it's a listening problem..
