The iPhone 18 Pro may have an early-launch problem. Some owners are reporting a strange issue: the iPhone freezes completely, then suddenly reboots. Several users say the crashes produced “Panic Full” logs, with reports involving Face ID, Apple Pay, Photos and other everyday tasks. The exact cause is still...

It's a known iOS 27 bug. Pull down notification center and control center at the same time--well start with notification center half a second before control center. This causes swiping/scrolling to all but stop working. A reboot fixes it. Hopefully iOS 27.2 will fix it.

Good catch. That may be a separate iOS 27 bug.

It's hard to tell but I think it's the same one. If you google and read various news articles, it actually existed in the iOS 27 beta. I think it was just a miss on Apple's part. It'll get fixed in the next point release...hopefully.

Honestly, even Chinese phones don't ship bugs like this when they update nowadays. It's pretty undeniable that Apple's software stability is going downhill.

Agreed. The next iOS update may tell us a lot.

This is not a hardware issue. It’s ios 27 bug which works on every device. Do research before posting;

If it affects every device, the Panic Full reports deserve a closer look.

Interesting. That could be another factor.

It’s not a big deal. A hard reset resolves the issue.

Good to know, hopefully a software update fixes it soon.

Please stop with this stupid trend… It’s a bug and happens when you pull down the notifications center and the status bar together Or how they are called nothing wrong with the device itself, just a bug that will be fixed Then you must force restart the device and all good

the 17 Pro is also doing this after installing the shitty bug filled IOS 27

Interesting, seems like iOS 27 may be the bigger factor here.

A launch-day freeze is bad enough, but random reboots make the 18 Pro Max a brutal first impression.

Procast's profile picture

Yeah, that would be a rough first impression.

Never buy an iPhone from the first batch. Early buyers are essentially beta testers, and any glitches may only be identified after complaints. It’s wiser to wait for the second batch, when production issues are more likely to have been fixed.

Yeah, early launches can come with unexpected bugs.

It’s real. Mine has done it a few times. I have the logs as proof. Spoke with apple who agreed either hardware issue or software but offered an exchange either way.

Procast's profile picture

That’s significant. Multiple occurrences plus the logs make this worth watching closely.

Not an iOS 27 issue. Installed on my iPhone 16 and it works perfectly

Every phone that’s spread well will have issues; it’s normal. The good news is it’s just software, not hardware. So they can patch it easily in the next update. The more good news is it’s Apple; they are fast with updates and give them all at the same time.
