I don't understand. If they were talking about their experience on social media & they gave enough info for this guy to find the assaulter, then can they really stop him after the fact?

When police handle cases, normally the victim’s name is not publicized. This seems to me to be an invasion of privacy of multiple people. There’s no reason why a survivor should not speak to their experience if it’s an effort to help others. That does not confer the right to
