🚨 An Iranian police officer says the economic situation has become unbearable even for the security forces the Islamic Republic depends on to keep itself in power. In an extraordinary appeal, the officer says many Iranians assume police and security personnel live comfortably or have other sources of income. He says the reality is very different, with officers themselves increasingly struggling to survive financially. He says he has been unable to afford milk for his own household for a long time and describes the same desperation among his colleagues. “Who can I tell my pain to? I look at my colleagues and they are all like me.” But his criticism goes beyond his salary. He pleads with authorities to address the suffering of ordinary Iranians, says those currently in charge are incapable of solving people’s problems and that there are better people who could govern, and even describes those responsible as godless while urging them to “return to God.” This is particularly significant coming from inside the police. The Iranian people, not the regime, must be the West’s partner. The people of Iran have shown, in nationwide protests from 2009 to 2022, that they reject this regime. It reminds me of the many fatwas and death sentences pronounced and carried out in Islamic Iran against the "enemies of Allah". They stamp, they will bring them to justice, they judge, they condemn and they ensure that some will even take action. The West really needs to take this seriously before there is no turning back. The more Reza Pahlavi speaks, the more he reveals who he really is: a weak authoritarian and would-be dictator who has learned the language of pluralism but never adopted its values or its principles. When confronted by Reuters over his close advisors' undemocratic language and threats against non-Monarchists, he says that he is imposing stricter protocol that ensures that - in his words - they "censor themselves," which he says is unfair because it is an infringement of free speech. Read that again. He is not saying that their undemocratic thinking and approach is wrong. he says that they have to do a better job at hiding it, even if it's unfair to them. Yes, the people making death threats against non-Monarchists are the victims, in his mind. And then he makes additional excuses for them because they too have suffered at the hands of the Islamic Republic (which is true). But the bottom line then is that a) their undemocratic mindset is neither a problem nor wrong, b) they have to conceal it better by "curbing their statements" even if it violates their free speech, c) and that they have to do a better job pretending to be democratic and pluralistic by adopting its language, but not its meaning. This is why many view the Monarchists as a non-threat to the Islamic Republic, but a major threat - alongside the current theocracy - to a genuinely democratic opposition emerging from inside Iran.

As a person who grew up in Iran, always following politics, listening to countless hours of Islamic Republic TV propaganda, I find it very hard to explain to Americans to what extent CNN is aligned strategically with the IRGC and the Islamic Republic. This whole segment can easily be translated to Farsi and be recited by two IRGC women wearing Hijab on the State TV. Most Americans will think I'm exaggerating, because they really don't want to believe how far the media as a civil institution has fallen. America simply cannot and will not survive as a nation-state if the entire national media act as the enemy propaganda tool. This happens to be an extremely one-sided war. But if the US gets involved in any conflict, where its military is challenged, this treacherous enemy propaganda machine will stab the nation in the back and destroy the country faster than you can imagine.
