if you look at the very last angle, he actually misses the tag. he has his glove toward the runner's crotch and doesn't actually make the touch.

Well, if replay existed back then, the call would be confirmed. He missed the tag, and you can see it on the last angle. Meals was staring at it from two feet away. He got it right.
