Once a week, the Sts. James Brotherhood of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem leads a solemn procession from the Armenian Quarter to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. For centuries, this vital tradition has helped preserve and affirm the rights of the Armenians — the first Christian nation — at one of the holiest sites of Christianity.

🚨BREAKING: George Warwar's henchman physically assaults Hagop Djernazian, co-founder of Save The ArQ. On the 23rd of January 2024, following an attack by the hired thugs of Xana Capital on the members of the Armenian community of Jerusalem, one of the aggressors, with visibly clear intent, approached Hagop Djernazian and punched him in the face in front of the Israeli Police. The local authorities immediately arrested the assailant and sent him to the "Moscobieh" prison pending a court hearing. The following day, the Israeli Police issued a 15 day restraining order against the aggressor from the Old City of Jerusalem, as well as a 30 day restraining order from the Cows' Garden property located in the Armenian Quarter. After emergency consultations with global lead counsel for the SavetheArQ movement, Karnig Kerkonian of Kerkonian Dajani LLP, it was decided to direct the ArQ's criminal lawyer in Jerusalem, Assaf Golan, to prepare a court filing and legal package in the coming days aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the community from further attacks. Since the 5th of November 2023, Danny Rothman and George Warwar, representatives of Xana Capital, have continued their intimidation tactics against the community via bulldozers, Israeli settlers, and thugs. This marks the 10th attack that the Armenian community has faced in defense of the Armenian Quarter. We, at Save the ArQ, would like to reiterate our stance in the face of these escalating transgressions - the harder they attack, the harder we will resist. APRIL 24 REPORT: Israeli news channel KAN 11 calls the Armenian Genocide the 'Armenian Holocaust' On Thursday, 24 April, 2025, Israeli broadcaster KAN 11 interviewed Hagop Djernazian, co-founder of SaveTheArQ, on the issue of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by Israel. In a rarely seen header, the Israeli outlet referred to the 1915 genocide, perpetrated by the Ottoman Empire, as the 'Armenian Holocaust' and asked the young leader about the potential for official recognition—a prospect which seems highly unlikely, despite the publicly strenuous relationship between Israel and Turkey. It's important to note that Turkey remains a major supplier of food, concrete, and steel to Israel and, together with Azerbaijan, accounts for between 40% and 60% of its oil imports. The interviewer also pointed out that this year, the commemorations of the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide coincide. “It happens every few years, and that’s why today is a very, very special day. Another Hate-based attack on the Armenian Community of Jerusalem On October 7th, a group of extremist Jews spat on the entrance of the Armenian Convent of Jerusalem. Two outnumbered Armenians confronted the aggressors who were armed with a knife; the aggressors proceeded to pepper-spray the unarmed defenders.
