You know what makes me so sad, that little boy not knowing she was planning on doing it to all of them. He would have died thinking she was killing him, and him alone, because he'd been naughty. He would have felt so unloved in his final moments. To me thats even worse than the physical pain he would have gone through. The thought that that little boy died feeling hated and unloved.

I think Dawson being killed in Patrick’s office is significant, she wanted him to find “his buddy” in his office, she knew they were close, she despised him as a child and Patrick the morning of the murder managed to get him to do something she couldn’t, he dressed himself.
