NEP 2020 "strongly recommends" teaching children in mother tongue, at least in primary school. What Siddharamaiah wants is that center should put a gun on parents' heads, and force them to teach their children in Kannada, whether they want it or not.

Karnataka CM must be hallucinating. Without English & Hindi being a global citizen becomes difficult. Even outside the country ppl from other countries would know Hindi& not the mother tongue.

How is this possible. If a person from Assam comes to Kochi and has a child then what it would be mandatory to teach the child in Assamese. What if the parents want to put the child in English school. What nonsense. Why not focus on development of North Karnataka.

That is mostly because they have only single language in their country unlike india. When we have 100s of language, how can indians will be able to thrive all over the country ? I think india is the only nation where language disadvantage is making indians lose opportunities.

The commies did the same thing in West Bengal. No english, no computer education. Not only blocked progress but made the state fall decades back, leading to industries moving out, unemployment and eventual rise in corrupt politics. Hope Karnataka doesn't fall for this trap.

Last time i checked..google was still conducting interviews in english. You depends on primarily english speaking countries companies and expect to promote regiona language.

Education in mother tongue is there in all states. Due to 0 admissions, it was closed. But that option is still there. Its shocking that our CM and his advisor are not aware

We have learnt in Mother tongue and we use Hindi and english for communicating with people who does not know local language. if that us the case then why this govt has budgeted Rs.100 crores for Urdu language and only Rs.25 cr for kannada. is this not double standards
