#WATCH | Lucknow | On Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in the state, Uttar Pradesh's Chief Electoral Officer, Navdeep Rinwa, says, "The first phase of SIR started on 4th November and will continue till 4th December. Under SIR, over 15.44 crore voters in the state are being given enumeration forms by BLOs. We expect voters to fill out the enumeration forms, sign them, and return them to the BLOs...We have completed mapping of over 50% of voters in Uttar Pradesh...A draft voter list will be published on 9th December in the state."

Serious lapse in Ramanagara. Instead of conducting house-to-house distribution of ECI enumeration forms for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), BLOs are mass-distributing them at a community hall. This completely defeats the purpose of a thorough door-to-door verification. I urge the Election Commission of India to immediately halt the current SIR process in Ramanagara AC and request the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka (Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka), to directly monitor and rectify this process to ensure transparency. 👇

Congress' party supported it and suggested that this can be done by following some safeguards. But, after 4 months, the election commission took a U-turn...
