The Russians had prepared everything in advance. Russian television channels simultaneously described the alleged drone attack on Putin's residence as an "official declaration of war." Statements about a possible retaliatory strike against Kyiv, particularly against Bankovaya Palace and other government buildings, immediately appeared on television, along with references to strategic and even nuclear weapons. The Kremlin launched a separate information campaign on television: To implement this, Solovyov was recalled from vacation, unscheduled broadcasts were aired, and "experts" from the political and military spheres were brought in. They claimed that Ukraine had allegedly acted with Western support, and that the goal of the "attack" was the physical elimination of Putin. At the same time, no photos, videos, or eyewitness accounts of the attack on the residence have yet surfaced. The Russian government limited itself to statements without presenting any evidence of the incident itself. Against this backdrop, the Kremlin indicated that its stance on possible peace negotiations might be reconsidered in light of the "attack." Only then did the Russian media begin to speak extensively of an escalation and an "inevitable response." In reality, we have a situation in which events were immediately used, without any evidence, to drastically escalate rhetoric and publicly justify the rejection of a peace process. This appears to be a pre-prepared informational pretext that Russia used to thwart any talks about ending the war.
