The SDF still controls some Kurdish areas; Arab tribes have turned against the Kurds, despite Rojava’s inclusive approach. They don't want the Kurds to be equal with them by having autonomy, they want to rule the Kurdish areas.

If Kurds in Syria had spent all those years, funding, and diplomacy to make friends with Turkey, they would have probably conquered much of Syria by now with Turkish help. Just like Kurds in Iraq who are better allies with Turks.
