VHP met multiple Durga Puja committees and appealed for the celebrations to remain rooted in Hindu culture. Their objection is specifically to altered or distorted forms of idols being showcased in the name of art. Rest they don't care on how people celebrate. Even non-veg food is not an issue for them, the only appeal is to keep it outside the place of worship.

Bageshwar Dham Baba has NOT objected to eating non-veg during Durgapuja. He has NOT. He has NOT. He has NOT asked anyone not to have non-veg during Durgapuja. He has appealed to the Hindus of West Bengal so that non-veg doesn't sell beside the PRATIMA. To quote him "PRATIMA KE PASS NON-VEG NAHI BIKNA CHAHIYE". I found nothing objectionable in it. His words has sparked unnecessary controversy because it hurt the economic interest of the halal-sellers who were erecting eatery stalls in the area almost within the Puja Mandap. By doing so, were they also deriving grinning pleasure of desecrating the Puja Mandap? Who can say? Moreover, Acharya Dhirendra Shashtri'Ji has also appealed to the Hindus of West Bengal to stop Love Jihad. This looks a prominent reason why a sect of the secular Bengalis are feeling rattled. It's time we place intelligence over emotions.

Use of DJs are not part of Bengali culture, there will be complete ban of same during whole of Durga Puja. Mahalaya will be treated as the day of start of the worship. Carnival to be discontinued, it's unethical to keep idols beyond 2 days post Dashami.
