The Legend that is Stan Bowles. #QPR #Maverick

Still the most joyous, carefree, wayward, wonderful player I have ever seen. I love that man.

Don't forget my assists.....

Had the pleasure of being in his company a few times over a couple of beers on a Sunday afternoon long after he retired. Top footballer but even better human. One of the best.

"Its there, thats two and its Bowles"...and its Brian Moore and a Sunday afternoon and magical football.

So many England internationals in that mid 70s QPR team.

Tha was a superb QPR team.

Stan Bowles was gifted beyond gifted but he was also a maverick beyond mavericks, he was a free spirit, didn’t respond well to authority, he had to be indulged, he had every bad habit known to man, with the right focus he could have achieved so much more in the game.

I A fantastic player . I wonder if England would have done better in the 70s if they had picked Bowles , currie , Worthington,Marsh , Hudson , all brilliant players pretty sure I’ve left a few more out .

Played in the @QPR team that came within a whisker of winning the league. Managed by Dave Sexton.

My first football memories were watching Stan Bowles with my Dad and Uncle, even back then as a very young boy I knew I was watching a very special player.

One of the all time greats, what a fantastic player

So gifted. None of these were blasted high into the net. just caressed into the bottom corner

My hero as a kid

My boyhood hero and the best player I’ve ever seen play in the blue & white hoops. Happy days watching that team in the mid 70s. A character and a wonderful player. Sadly now very ill.

Proper 70s great

What a player 👏

Very sad to hear this news. A tremendous footballer ⚽️😔

Great memories of a fantastic player

A truly great player.

Good old Stan ! Many a happy Saturday afternoon as a kid watching down at Loftus road. Experiencing the God gifted talent that man had ⚽️⭐️

One of my earliest heroes. Marvellous.

A legend.

@davecreasyGFC @RichardHimswor1 @Pudsley1980 this is what we need!

I was just thinking about him this morning playing at Brentford alongside Kamara and Hurlock in the midfield, they did his tackling for him 🤣

LEGEND OF FOOTBALL

Great compilation 👏

Stan was some player liked watching him play when he came to the Boro

Rodney wasn't bad either

Great days before the stupid orchestrated goal celebrations of today

Brilliant player

As a boy of seven watching rangers was magical through to an eleven year old watching that team was so special and will never be repeated or replaced again especially in my life time

These days legend is often overused, but make no mistake Stan is a true football legend, on and off the pitch, many magic moments and a love of the game. And don't forget in those days you were allowed to "tackle". What a guy 💕

Rip ❤️ 🙏

Was Stan Bowles. Is is present tense
