Enjoy Tax Freedom Day this week! So far, on average, you have worked the first 4 months of this year to pay taxes to the Government. Taxes have now risen to about a third of the economy under Labor. Under Labor, Tax Freedom Day has been getting later and later. Taxes are up $26,000 per Australian household per year since COVID. Now Labor wants more taxes. Labor wants a tax on property (removing negative gearing), Labor wants a tax on investment (increasing tax on capital gains) and a tax on small businesses (taxing the trusts that so many use). Enough with more Labor taxes that just make you work more for them.

If I was king for a day, I would offer zero U.S. tariffs on goods from other countries if they would levy zero tariffs on our goods sold to them. Trade is more complicated than that, and we live in the real world, but that should be the ideal.
