I don't think MP Lewis is being honest here. The Liberals, as she puts it, can't just give Canadians $64 million back. As I see it, the federal government is in no position to recoup $64 million even though the amount seems preposterous. Bureacrats entered into a contract for services on the government's behalf and the services were provided. The current government under PM Mark Carney has banned the company from doing business with the government going forward. Also, let's not forget that the company also had several contracts under a different name with the Harper government.

I would trade the money for a @rcmp arrest(s). That isn't going to happen is it? Criminal MPs need jail time. It should be the case that criminality in govt always results in very public charges and time. We have the exact opposite. Please advocate for that. Better question - who is going to jail for all these scams? You get 7 years on a company blacklist - only they can crop up as a different company tomorrow. This is not enough.

A notable lack of consequences for ANYthing they do suggests they can, in fact, keep doing it.
