Is it ok to not care about efficiency for non mobile devices? I never cared about consumption of my nvidia cards and never will

It's okay, but if you're in a country with energy prices 5x higher than the US, it would be more of an issue.

I think people want to see numbers against normal desktop cpu's if this is as capable as a normal desktop one and what are its downsides other then the locked os and hardware.

Normal desktop CPUs (I've tested AMD 5000 and 7000 series Ryzen, Intel 11th/12th/13th gen) are far behind in efficiency and idle consumption. They compete on multi-core performance still, but are neck-in-neck single core (on the high end... the chips that need 150+W to do so).
