Seeking feedback is excellent advice. As for the button some government are that button if the problem is not widespread. However, in case of the US the button indeed cannot exist at the time being and giving people strong education is probably more effective.

You forgot to mention a simple solution - Make all drugs legal. That will at least solve the problem of quality assurance and prevent a lot of overdosing. The addiction is a mental problem that is a separate issue. And a lot of people can be helped dealing with addiction.

No. As a grown adult with freedom of choice, I somehow have manage to exist without a drug addiction. You don’t ban things to make the world better - you teach people the tools they need to overcome obstacles. But I do believe you shouldn’t have been locked up.

There is no magic button, but there is this: it is learning to think&reason clearly and honestly it is developing a conscience which demands your best effort at responsible choices it is true forgiveness&mercy when all of that doesn’t work perfectly it is a form of justice which incentivizes correction of course and healing the injured over showy displays of self-promoting ‘virtue’. ❤️
