NFL schedule maker Mike North on the 49ers schedule after Week 1’s game in Australia: “The Niners come back to three straight home games, so they get a month in the building, a month in the facility to recover. I think there’s a short road trip somewhere, another home game. Yes, a long road trip to the East, but then the bye. So they’re gonna get a chance to catch their breath and get healthy.” Not in this clip: The 49ers were sensitive about playing on Thanksgiving or Christmas after doing both in 2023 and managed to avoid that and believes the overall schedule is fair: “I’m sure waving a magic wand, they would move a game or two on their schedule. But I assume the same is true for the other 31 teams as well. 179 days ago my students walked the Green Carpet and chose the NFL team they would track, study, and believe in for an entire season. For 179 days, these kids followed stats, mapped geography, tackled math, researched history, and learned what it means to truly know a team. Somewhere along the way, they didn’t just study their teams..they became part of them. Today, we crowned our Super Bowl champion. The Seattle Seahawks , a story of perseverance, resilience, and grit. A reminder that being written off doesn’t mean you’re done. That teamwork matters. That defense wins games. That belief changes EVERYTHING. Jones has been a spark plug this camp 🏈It was the De'Zhaun Stribling and Demarcus Robinson show at WR today. Stribling is eminently impressive physically — just really hard to cover with his traits. Green: "A dawg recognizes a dawg. So we're going to go at it and sharpen each others' swords." 🏈Renardo Green spoke at length about how much Kyle Shanahan's belief in him has elevated his confidence. Seems that some totally misread the brief Seattle "benching" 🏈Another CB highlight: Jack Jones INT'd Mac Jones on rollout jump ball to Jacob Cowing. Jones has been a spark plug this camp 🏈It was the De'Zhaun Stribling and Demarcus Robinson show at WR today. Stribling is eminently impressive physically — just really hard to cover with his traits. Robinson is a reliable vet whose roster stock only increases with Ricky Pearsall still dealing with last season's PCL injury 🏈Darrell Luter Jr. (final year of rookie deal) did have a nice PBU vs Robinson 🏈Punt returners... -Jacob Cowing -Jordan Watkins -Junior Bergen -Will Pauling -Wesley Grimes Cowing had a couple catches today and a first down on a reverse but has not been overly productive on offense. He's the 49ers' shortest WR. His ticket to the 53 might be through that PR position 🏈Jaden Dugger, the rookie LB with the 7-foot wingspan, is a LONG strider. Nice range on a throw to the flat today 🏈Mac Jones is constantly funny. Hit Patrick Taylor Jr. on a swing pass vs what might've been busted coverage and acted like the TD won the Super Bowl with his arms outstretched 🏈Shanahan was again on the field for a bit. Former safety Raheem Morris joined him and John Lynch watching from that centerfield spot 🏈Brock Purdy and his wife, Jenna, announced that their second child is on the way this morning. A historic collision of legends, Geoff Roes came from behind in heroic fashion, emerging victorious in a then course record time of 15:07. The race was beautifully captured by JB Benna and Journeyfilm in the 2011 documentary Unbreakable, a piece of art that helped thousands of people fall in love with this amazing sport. On June 28th, Western States will host another collision of legends. Perhaps the greatest 100-mile start list ever assembled, present-day champions will compete to etch their names into Western States history — carrying the awareness that they stand on the shoulders of giants. This being the 15th anniversary of the Unbreakable year, it only feels right to tell the story again. Same race, same course, same spirit, but with a new cast of characters and in a new generation of trail running.
