the math behind blend modes
30 条评论

i didn't realize how literal the names were lol

The math is usually done in [0-1] which makes multiply a subtractive operation, and it's important to note this should be performed in linear space, not gamma-encoded sRGB

Can't wait for the overlay visualization. It's my goat.

Omg this is like, so necessary to have around. To see the actual functions and their respective results in real time like that. THANK U!

its all math

I need this, thank you!

This is a wonderful visual! I've referenced a written out explanation of these for years, but this animation is very well crafted to get the point across efficiently. (detailed explanation for those interested:

It looks very different if the values are linear RGB color instead of sRGB.

@aruurara

Thank you for this! i was always curious on how the math behind the effects worked!

humongous thank u to the people who figured this out fr

@artolivs não consegui marcar o tarsis kkkk

Thank you king

actually been thinking I'd love to see something that goes in depth into what goes on with them (since I'm used to just playing around with them until it works lol)

do you have a good formula for Photoshops Vivid Light?

Ooooooo

Th 3b1b music.......

I swear I knew some of these but I always forget the formulas. Definitely gonna need this later

that's literally azali

idk whats happening lol i don't do graphic design cool functions though

I’m doing a work that requires me to play with different blending mode, and this is just what I needed, thanks for sharing!

awesome animation but you should probably have used normalized values

And interestingly, y'all know, every thing is created with a mathematical system, Even our own bodies lol

is this how sex works?

Noice 👌

More like this please?

thanksss

Post it on yt, I'll understand it more if I can process it slower If can't, that's okay

So helpful. The things left is the math behind of contrast blending modes. I want this all so bad!

Nice! Unfortunately, there're also Alpha-component cases that are frustrating for people who code it in their games
