Just off this Red Hot contest. I must say that Afghanistan did not just play well, but they were quite clinical at key moments of the match. In the first 10 overs, they were simply out of the game and there was this feeling like they might end up around 170-175, even if they stretch it beyond a point. But to have scored 325 runs was a bit of surprise. A bolt from blue right for England, even when they did have a lot of strength in them to pull it off. So, congratulations to the team. They have got the chestnuts out of fire. But man, when it comes to bowling, there is absolutely no way to compare that with any kind of match performance displayed during this tournament. Around the last 10 overs, it felt like they were pulling it off when Joe Root and Jamie Overton were at the crease. But thanks to Azmatullah Omarzai's skillful bowling, they were done in. What a brilliant all-rounder he is! They are a beautiful bunch of cohesive people. They gel together well. Their performance becomes even more magnified as a unit. I believe that out of all the three departments, fielding has to be their weakest point. It's kind Achilles heel in their team. Other way round, they are simply brilliant. Their batting has got depth. You have got Rashid Khan coming at number eight, number nine and hitting mighty blows. In case of bowling, they're brilliant. Maybe they are lacking firepower in terms of fast bowling, but that is easily compensated for by the brilliance of Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad. There is the stewardship of Mohammad Nabi, which makes the unit determined to pull off every game. Quite surprised and fascinated and happy as well, from my side, to see this side making such rapid strides. It is going to get better with each passing day. It's going to get to those astronomical heights that any cricketing nation does see when it sustains its good work.
