In both scenarios the true essence of ascending from oneself or one’s life is through the process of becoming closer to that which is greater than self. Either by mirroring God through your life or by removing the ego in the present moment to shift your consciousness in such a way that you share the same space with the Creator. In both of these scenarios there starts with the belief or faith that there is a something greater than “I” or self. It is a way of being, a path taken. It is not “religion” or “books” that save us, these are only guides or guardrails. But it is within our own being the ability to ascend, or create that relationship. Not through good deeds and donating to charity or receipting every Bible verse, but an internal alignment of values, a perspective that seeks Truth, Life and wholeness in ALL things, not for profit or personal gain but because it IS the way of the universe. Humans have free will, the ability to choose, and it is this choice that gives us the power, the power to change or stay the same. It all starts within.

This 1984 Japanese meditation will make you uncomfortably aware of how much time you've wasted on problems that had a 10-minute solution. During his "Understanding Consciousness" lectures, Michio Kushi made a bold claim: "Every problem you're struggling with was manufactured by your consciousness." Most meditation traditions treat thoughts as things to observe. Kushi went further. He said observation still keeps you tangled inside the system that produced the problem. The real exit was total nothingness. Relax into the present. Let thoughts settle on their own. Rest in simple awareness as the sense of “the thinker” gently fades. The hand position matters more than people realize. Left palm up, right palm down. In classical Eastern energetics, the left side receives and the right side releases. The posture is a circuit. It routes incoming force through an intake–exhaust loop: Letting new energy in without the mind grabbing it, and letting old mental structures drain away. Five to ten minutes of that, and when you open your eyes, a fresh image rises on its own. Without you having tried to solve anything. Like a way through. Why it actually works has less to do with mysticism than cognition. Every unsolved problem in your life persists because your brain keeps reloading the same neural patterns that created it. You cannot out-think a loop from inside the loop. The nothingness state briefly interrupts the reloader. When the mind reboots, it returns with a blank field. Dark Souls is an allegory for depression and life as a whole. Giving up is the true death. but the game is also deeply Nietzschean. It offers neither external salvation nor moral certainty there are no guarantees of redemption simply a harsh world that just IS. Meaning is not imposed upon you, you must create it through endurance and perseverance. Suffering is not merely an impediment. Itt is an integral part of the process. Every death, every return to the bonfire, echoes the same struggle again and again, asking if you can keep going. To go Hollow is to give in to nothingness, to keep going is an act of will, a quiet claim of strength even when hope feels absent. Power does not come from being pure or destined, it comes from learning, from facing fear, from choosing life even when it is cruel and indifferent However, it is also chockfull of Christian iconography in a way that deliberately clashes with its Nietzschean core. The world is in a endless cycle of fire and rot, as if it is a fallen world beset with sin. Sacrifice is ubiquitous. Gods immolate themselves to extend the age of existence, martyrs are sacrificed so that others may live on, and you perpetuallly offer yourself in ways that are almost penances. Burning bonfires are resurrections, but they are not gifts they are earned through suffering. Even in a world as hard as this one, it is not all darkness.
