It's easier to explain why the moon shouldn't exist than why it does. All theories of lunar origin don't make sense. The moon's mass and assumed density suggest it should have settled into spherical form... with a single center of mass. Free to rotate on any axis. This week’s (Sept. 19 - 25) space weather report includes: · 4 M-class flares · 30 coronal mass ejections · 0 geomagnetic storms This video from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) shows the week’s activity. At about 1:25 in the video, another celestial body makes an appearance — the Moon! Lunar transits happen only a few times a year, when the Moon’s tilted orbit aligns just right to cross SDO’s view. From SDO's orbit vantage point about 22,217 miles overhead, the Moon appears about 10% larger than it does from Earth's surface. 🔎 More on flares & coronal mass ejections:

Our #GhostRiders completed another lunar orbit maneuver with a 3 minute, 18 second burn early this morning. This maneuver moved the lander from a high elliptical orbit to a much lower elliptical orbit around the Moon. Shortly after the burn, Blue Ghost captured incredible footage of the Moon's far side, about 120 km above the surface. In this orbit, the team will experience planned rolling comms blackouts as Blue Ghost goes around the far side of the Moon. When on the near side, the team will continue to downlink data and finalize the plan for our next maneuver that will get Blue Ghost even closer to the lunar surface and keep us right on track for landing on March 2. #BGM1
