I've been to churches that claim that Jewish people are God's people, and we have to protect and bless them in order to bring Jesus back. I tried to have a conversation with a family member that still is a pastor believing this... The basis of their argument is God's covenantal promise in the Old Testament. And a deep misunderstanding of eschatology. But it is a virus within Christianity that needs to be exposed. My argument was that they've convinced themselves that the redemption of the most evil people is somehow a part of God's plan. Instead of getting condemnation, they get a final in-grafting and full forgiveness. I tried to reason that Revelation 2 talks about a S0 S.. is clearly talking about a group of people who claim that they are, but really are not... Wouldn't it be a terrible mistake to have these people groups exactly opposite of the truth? to accidentally believe that the s0 s is God's chosen people? But now I'm thinking a better approach is to talk about the theological argument that is discussed in the book of Acts and the original heresy of Judaizing. The people that make these claims believe that the Bible is the basis of their arguments. Anyone who has studied acts and the writings of Saint Paul knows in-depth theological arguments and the fighting of the heresy. It was dramatic how Peter had the vision of unclean animals.. And how the Jerusalem Church was leaning towards the ritualistic practices until the first Council of Jerusalem. The decision was that Christianity is a universal religion that transcends tribal loyalties and all other loyalties. The very idea that there is a chosen group of people that are somehow elevated higher than an ordinary Christian because of heritage that goes against what Jesus taught. Jesus predicted the temple would be destroyed and eventually the records with everyone's genealogies were also destroyed so that no one could pretend that they have elite status. Today's modern chabad Judaism is a mixture of Babylonian magic and endtime crazy eschatology terrorism. This is equivalent to saying that eventually the Pharisees will become saved. This is a new religion because nowhere in the Bible or anywhere in tradition did Jesus provide a way for the conspiratorial Pharisees to be saved.
