Lost Highway was Robert Blake's final film. The film is about a man who may have k*ll*d his wife. Four years after it came out, Blake's real wife was murdered. Blake was charged, then acquitted. One of the strangest postscripts in film history.

"..." "..." "We've met before, haven't we?" "That's fuckin' crazy man"

Not to be a snob, but cutting out every second of dead air in the conversation really takes the sting out of this scene. Having it all compressed together like this makes the scene pretty ineffectual

Lost Highway (1997)

Dawg if a nigga who looks like that even approaches me I’m just walking away, no conversation needed.

Apologies for the click sounds on cuts. Forgot to fade them.

It’s giving

Magnificent, yes, but how to nail it? Like the opening sentence to Metamorphosis by Kafka, it's uncertain which way this is going to go. For dead-end chilling, one has to go to Anton telling the gas station owner to 'Call it.' (No Country for Old Men.) Unsurpassed as yet; but keep trying guys; you can do it?

You took one of the most intense and unsettling dialogue scenes and ruined it with a bunch of jump cuts. David Lynch is rolling in his grave.

I didn’t even have to turn on the sound and I was freaked out

Baretta, oops I mean Robert Blake. Wasn't he involved in some dark business. . ? 😬🧐 Astrologically, he has Pluto Cancer Square to Uranus Aries opening life path possibility to sudden aggressive violence. You can't make this shit up. Mars & Venus Scorpio don't really help this chart in the sense that together they need a maturity within to manage jealousy, possessiveness and internal secretive revenge type vibes. .

I feel like that pale face dark eyes red lips combo is some kind of ancient human-adjacent species that used to hunt us and that’s why we have such a creepy feeling when we see it. It’s always used in horror movies to depict haunting, demonic creatures like vampires, ghosts, or ghouls.

I kept wondering why this scene gave me Twin Peaks vibes. Then I noticed the movie is directed by David Lynch, and everything makes sense.

It's a lot better when you haven't chopped it up to move faster.

well…, a good start for later higher level.

im batista bombing that little nigga where he stands if he pulled some shit like that

no one else gets the Nosferatu reference? it's been bugging me since I saw this movie.

Pretty sure 99% don’t get what it’s about. Took me a 2nd watching of the movie. (He wants to kill his wife for her infidelity and asks Satan for a path. The parallel story with him being young Chad is how he wants to be. In the end, his soul is collected as per.)

I feel like I missed out on 90’s cocaine

This movie gave me nightmares as a kid. That creepy dude and his white face haunted me for days after I watched this.

This is also a very chilling conversation from The Equalizer

this movie sucked so bad bro. Nothing made any sense. Bad shots, bad dialogue, bad acting.

Apparently David lynch said he put this in the movie cos he experienced this at a party he was at , it’s freaked him out that he did this scene

My favorite Lynch film.

Lost Highway dropping the most unhinged 'I’m already inside your house' energy 4 years before Robert Blake’s real life plot twist. Lynch wasn’t directing a movie, he was filing a police report from the future

@shinjukutheif1 The soundtrack to Lost Highway is better than the actual film.

How can you be in two places at once when you’re not anywhere at all? — Firesign Theatre

Mystery Man didn't even blink once. I still remember the nightmares though, thanks to me not understanding the movie.

Except cutting out all the silences destroys the terror utterly

Never thought Robert Blake was a good actor. He pretty much played the same guy. This was a departure and I gotta say he was pretty good

Jim Norton was amazing here

Gonna have to watch this!

Took me a while - knew he looked familiar
