I know family guy doesn’t really have a canon and things are only relevant for the sake of the episode or joke, but the fact that the original fight and episode was all a dream for a reference to a then 10+ show plot twist the writers hated will always be a funny to me

Fun little detail: Peter lands more hits on Ernie during the first fight. In the second however, Ernie deals more blows to Peter. Every single fight from then onward, the two were about equally matched, dealing the same amount of punches and kicks to one another.
