To me, it’s as simple as this: D: Complete trust of the system and BV’s ability. O: “Fix”, “Back to the drawing board”, “figure it out”

Rocky is pissed lol

If we have to “figure it out,” we need to start over. Pull the bandaid. This includes Bedenbaugh—to me, Sam Pittman is right there waiting to be hired and he’s been our OL coach before to boot. Get it going ASAP. We saw the improvement at TE. It’s time everywhere else on O.

We’ve seen Bedenbaugh have good lines and first round picks under multiple OC’s. I don’t see a need to throw the baby out with the bath water. I also like to judge coaches based on the options they’d have if they hit the free market. Bill would have dozens of options.

@brettachapman 1.9 YPC vs New Mexico, whatever BB is coaching isn’t translating and it hasn’t for several years now. I’ve been a supporter too, but it’s time to make a change.

I think it comes down to the revolving chairs on the OL and a gameplan that dramatically changes weekly + RPO. Just considering common denominators, which is more likely to be true: 1. BB forgot how to coach OL after doing it well for over a decade. 2. Ben Arbuckle’s plan isn’t translating.

@pat4_c @brettachapman It’s time to move on

@pat4_c @brettachapman With all due respect, I don’t think abandoning context is the best way to evaluate Bill Bedenbaugh.

@pat4_c @brettachapman I don’t either, I think he had a great tenure overall at OU but I think his best years are behind him respectfully.

@pat4_c @brettachapman The offense was #4 in the country and 2023 behind his OL, he had first round picks in 2023 and 2024 (the only two of the BV era), and Dillon did this behind his OL in 2023.

If that O had been together under the same system for 2-3 years and lit up New Mexico for 40-50 points, they'd come across with belief, confidence, and unity. The O has been exposed. Twice. The question is how do they build confidence in the system and trust in each other?

I think the offense had confidence in Y2 with Lebby/DG.

Well yeah, because the system worked and the QB could deliver. The OU defense has confidence in the sytem to work and they trust each other to deliver. The OU offense needs the same thing fans need. For it to work. Nothing looked right against New Mexico. Doesn't mean it can't.

I’m just saying that it’s not unfair to question whether a system can be trusted in just two years.

Well it isn't working and the QB can't deliver so both fans and players don't believe in it. So I don't think its unfair. But...I think if Mateer can find a way to deliver in the first drive against UGA, and put points on the board, belief will manifest. Trust takes longer.

@1soonernut One side is logged on and the other “doesn’t know” and “are going back to the drawing board.”? Focus vs Bewilderment

We JUST need an ANGRY OLine who play with attitude. We missed the “fire”that used to be under them.

I mean, the current disparity in rankings is crystal clear evidence as to why. 🤷🏽♂️ But all it takes is locking in, establishing and staying rooted in an identity. Go back to executing crisp and cleanly like that first game. Because it’s not just who you are playing in the moment, it’s how you execute. The whole team was on the same page then and the coaches stuck to calling plays that were clearly an established team identity. For whatever reason, they’ve went away from that, without opponents getting the full credit of actually taking it away. They have to keep up the same grit and toughness as the defense and go out there and attack relentlessly just the same. None of the conservative talk about preserving the defense is going to help this team achieve the goals it set for itself. The offense has to be free to let it rip and play with joy! Or else we are in serious danger of possibly losing to teams like Kentucky and Mississippi State because those offenses are playing freely.

Put up 21 & beat Georgia then fan amnesia will take effect & all forgotten

That’s a coaching thing. That’s too Abby cooks in the kitchen and the OC has lost his teams trust and confidence.

Well first is that some of those defensive videos were before they even played a game. So of course it’s a different message. Our Offense sucks ass but can’t chop up videos from different time lines to fit the narrative. Especially, when you don’t have to because it’s glaringly obvious.

Some are, but two of them are from post-New Mexico. So the defensive message has been consistent. That’s my point. What narrative do you think I’m trying to convey with my video compilation?
