What’s the unit?

Basic and Pascal...those were the days 😀

No other language ruled like Fortran and C did.

Im glad to see java and javascript in steep decline at the end

Still using PHP and it works great.

I counted 15+ languages I programmed with. Easiest was basic (sinclair basic) Hardest was C++ Most fun was Python Least fun was Fortran Most troublesome was java script

Lmao python allowed js to be 1st for about 2 seconds 😂 Also interesting how c# was around while c was still beating c++

Python is written in C, so shouldn't that by extension make C the most popular language? Also, I'm not surprised that Ada came out of nowhere and shot straight to the top during the government's "Thou shalt use Ada" phase. Obviously politically motivated. The subsequent rise of C and fall of Ada was them trying to clean up their mess.

Languages evolving…coding's fashion show from bell-bottoms to skinny jeans! 🤓💻

What’s being measured? Lines of code written, lines of code executed, number of programs, number of programmers, programmer hours, number of processes, … and how do you know?
