The National Weather Service has declared a Particularly Dangerous Situation with damaging winds and an increased risk for fires through tomorrow. This morning, I joined safety officials to provide an update for Angelenos. LAFD resources have been pre-deployed and we will be monitoring the winds closely.

This watch indicates the possibility of a tornado outbreak with strong, violent, and long-lasting tornadoes. Additionally, widespread large hail, with some hailstones reaching up to 5 inches in diameter (DVD-sized or larger), is likely. Scattered damaging winds, with isolated significant gusts up to 80 mph or higher, are also expected. People in the watch area should be on high alert and take these warnings seriously, as this could be a life-threatening situation.
