NPP Vice-Presidential Candidate Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has accused the NDC of being a “sakawa” government. He claimed that “sakawa” cases decreased under the current administration and warned that voting the NDC back into power would bring a resurgence. He also assured nursing trainees that the allowance system would be maintained, and opportunities to work abroad, including in Canada, would be provided. #ElectionBureau #GhanaPolls2024 #CitiVerify

Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has appealed to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, to consider reselecting Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as the party’s running mate for the 2028 general elections. According to Dr. Amoakohene, it is strategically important for the party to choose a running mate from the Ashanti Region. He argued that Dr. Opoku Prempeh remains a strong choice and deserves a second opportunity, just as the party’s flagbearer has been given another chance to lead the ticket.

He further raised concerns over the forced removal of the former Chief Justice and what he described as attempts to undermine the independence of the Electoral Commission by targeting its Chair.
