Students with disabilities are students first. The Admin's plan to move programs for these students out of the Dept of Ed will hamper student services, increase backlogs, & make it harder to protect against discrimination. A terrible decision for students & their families.

If a student gets a 90 on a test it’s an A. In 1970 it was a B. If a student gets an 80 on a test it’s a B. In 1970 it was a C. Why the change? Public school performance was affecting funding, so rather than change what they were doing, they adjusted the grading scale. That should tell you everything you need to know about the public school system.

Avi Lewis: "We been very clear in the NDP for a very long time that we respect the right of Quebecers to decide their future..." Does that courtesy extends to Alberta and our right to decide on our future? Someone should inform Naheed Nenshi on his Party & boss' stance.

A constituent from Venice recently brought an issue to our office that Catholic veterans are currently unable to have a crucifix on their headstone at VA cemeteries. So I led a letter to the VA urging this policy change and got 45 colleagues to sign in support! And now the House is already taking steps to direct the VA to make the change. Our veterans fought for this country. They should be laid to rest with the dignity and honor they so rightfully deserve, including the ability for Catholic veterans to have a crucifix on their headstone. Check out the letter:

When DRIPA was debated in 2019, this NDP government said the legislation would not create new rights for First Nations. But the NDP's proposed changes to legislation brought in as part of the DRIPA action plan (Heritage Conservation Act) would give First Nations decision making rights on public & even on private property. The NDP continues to negotiate behind the backs of British Columbians, giving control of our lands & waters to governing bodies who are not accountable to the electorate.

On May 1st I caught Chicago Public Schools bussing kids to an Anti Trump protest. At the protest they told me that their teachers say "F*CK TRUMP!" and "F*CK ICE!" Now my reporting of a student equating Trump to Hitler was shown at congress to push for real change in Chicago Public Schools.

Vision IAS Delhi Students Deserve Clarity. No student should have to prepare for UPSC with fear, confusion and uncertainty. Also, No institute should have to go through such a phase. Students have paid their fees, trusted the institute and planned their preparation around its classes, teachers, test series and study material. They are not asking for too much. They only want to know what is happening and what will happen next. This is not the time for silence. The Director, the management and the senior faculty should come together on one stage and speak directly to the students. They should clearly explain whether classes will continue, which faculty members will remain, how pending courses will be completed and what support will be given to enrolled students. Even if there are problems, students can understand them. What they cannot handle is being left without answers. At this point, assurance matters. A clear and honest interaction can reduce rumours, rebuild confidence and help students focus again on their preparation. Students are already carrying the pressure of one of the toughest examinations in the country. They should not be made to carry the burden of institutional uncertainty as well. They are not asking for promises. They are asking for clarity, continuity and responsibility. I am sure Vision IAS will resolve this.
