Women stop dressing attractive when she becomes a doormat, then he immediately stops looking attractive to her. It’s a 2-way street. When he ignores her, disrespects her, and continues to lie to her that’s when she is done with that marriage. He becomes no longer attractive to her. As soon as I knew things wouldn’t change, when I spent a fortune on my hair, make up, clothes, self help books (the language of love, etc.) working out, praying, great meals, planning romantic evenings and then after all that the very first time he disrespects me, ignores & lies to me, I started making mental check marks and planned my exit. It took some time but I kept making more check marks so that I was sure. However, I knew when I left him he’d be forced to be a better human and I more responsible and after our divorce we both did improve. It’s a shame we didn’t communicate better earlier on; but, he wasn’t capable or willing. Once you are humbled, both of us, then we can learn to be better for other people. It’s a two way street and I believe a man should be the head of the home, but that comes with respect, trust, and communication. We were married 31 years…..At times I’m lonely but I don’t want to kill myself anymore. It was a painful and difficult choice; however, I walked away and chose to save me…I am more responsible now and he is a better human now. I like who he is as a person now and I never did before.

@_Achetypal FINALLY! I literally have been saying this the last 20 years - Its something I figured out after my divorce…. You can love a lot of people, but do you ‘like’ them? Thats why your friendships outlast most of your relationships - bc you actually ‘like’ your friends
