Thanks to @FrontRowGrunt for bringing the Cardiff vs Bulls example to my attention. Flankers should never be engaging at any point with any opposition front-rower. It is dangerous as it is an unknown variable being added to the scrum-contest.

These incidents are happening all too often, with the first example leading to a neck injury to Ox Nche that ruled him out of the rest of the Lions Series. These were easy to find examples but I am sure there are a 100 more out there.

Most telling of all is not one example is penalised. In fact, the B&I Lions get a penalty in the first example. There is so much subjectivity in rugby that makes refereeing the game difficult… However, this is not one of those cases.

For those wondering why I singled out Curry, it was simple. When seeing the Cardiff vs Bulls incident it immediately took my mind the moment he drove underneath Ox Nche in the Lions test. From there I looked at a recent Test and Club match and found an example both times.

So unless it’s a ridiculous coincidence that the two matches I checked had examples, I’m positive Curry alone has countless more of these infringements. Also the fact that he adds a clear “hit” makes it even more obvious.

Ben Grove-White did see it happen in the Bulls game and did warn Mann not to do it again. But perhaps, with the safety risk it poses, the mandate should go out to referees to immediately penalise it because it isn’t a technical foul, it’s dangerous play.

*wrist slap*

Tom Curry definitely in from the kant

Good clips explaining the point. Can see how it could be very dangerous. The shunt action indicates clearly it’s been coached and practised. When you see your TH fold in, hit the LH hard and drive

It's not new, and I have been banging on about this for years, flanker sliding up scrummage with the front row. Tom Curry and all BR's, you want to get in the FR, change your shirt and have a go.
