Vitalik Says Quantum Safety Has Become Urgent Priority For Ethereum Vitalik Buterin (vitalik.eth) outlined a new "Lean Ethereum" strawmap in a post on X. He said the upgrades will roll out over the next three to four years. Buterin compared the shift in scale to the 2022 Merge upgrade. The plan touches nearly every layer of the network, he said. Vitalik Buterin also said quantum resistance has jumped sharply in priority for the network. He said privacy has also become a first class goal under the new plan. The roadmap calls for a new virtual machine to support both goals. Options include leanISA or RISC based designs, Buterin said. Worth noting, the foundation aims to reduce its budget by 40% under a new structure. The cuts follow several executive departures in recent months.
