🚨Prof. John Mearsheimer: Trump’s CONTEMPT for Europe leading to reduced US military commitment in Europe, Europe to bear Ukraine🇺🇦 burden ‘If you read the new National Security Strategy document, it’s quite clear that the Trump administration wants to focus mainly on East Asia. They want to deal mainly with the China threat. And of course, they also care greatly about the Western Hemisphere, and the place they want to reduce the American commitment to is Europe. The contempt for the Europeans reflected in that document is quite significant. And furthermore, we know from events over this past year that what the Trump administration wants to do is shift the burden for dealing with Ukraine to the shoulders of the Europeans. In other words, the United States wants to get out of the game of supporting Ukraine and turn that mission over to the Europeans. So I think all of this tells you that what we are likely to do in the years ahead is reduce the military footprint, the US military footprint, in Europe.
