Our society requires a degree of trust amongst citizens to properly function. The problem is now we have too many people we cant trust that arent even citizens.

Delayed Egress Emergency Doors aren’t new-they’re quite common. Usually they’re wired so that if say a fire alarm activates then they open immediately.

Delayed Egress is common for government buildings and other areas. It unlocks automatically when power fails or a fire alarm happens. It is quite legal. If you need the gate for a stroller or something you can buzz the attendant who will push a button to unlock it.
