I respectfully disagree. I believe that the next evolutionary step is human higher awareness. Our current trajectory in the space sector is an indicator that we are already mid-step in this evolution. If you look at the increasingly abundant examples of characters like @elonmusk and follow that back to figures like Ford, Tesla, Kant, and other thinkers who stepped outside of the boundaries of thinking that the average person is confined to, I think a person could plot a trajectory that humans will continue to advance in this way. You could say then that consciousness/awareness is the next evolutionary step.
