The word federated might sound like jargon, but it’s the key - it means every NHS hospital has its own instance of #palantir software. Each individual hospital is in complete control - the hospital decides how the software is used and how to manage the information the hospital holds. #NHS hospitals use Palantir to bring together information from their many different IT systems, so their staff can make better informed decisions about patient care. While you wait weeks to see a GP, NHS doctors in England are being forced into unemployment; blocked by Government caps that stop them from furthering their training to become specialist Consultants/GPs. This year, there were around 30,000 doctors applying for 10,000 speciality training places. That means thousands of capable doctors ready to serve the public and the NHS are being turned away. Every rejected doctor is a lost opportunity to cut waiting lists, staff wards safely and bring the NHS back from crisis. And Wes Streeting’s response? Just 2,000 extra speciality training places over 3 years. That will not fix the doctor unemployment crisis in England. The NHS Constitution for England states that the obligation of the NHS is to provide treatment and care. Lord Falconer says that constitution would have to be changed if Assisted Suicide was provided in hospitals. Yes, you heard that right. This madman wants the NHS to state that they are no longer obliged to treat and care, and that they also have the option to kill. Which- I’m sorry to say- is far cheaper and cuts waiting lists…. #BBCDebate There are many things we need to do. There are two really important things. We have to keep the budget strong. You need a strong economy to do that. And public spending is going to go up. It will go up, and for the NHS very substantially. The only people on this platform who have ever cut the NHS budget are Labour in Wales, they've cut it four times and that's why their waiting lists are four times longer than they are in England. Not only can you not afford a Labour government, the NHS can't afford it either.

Pleased to see NHS England Board asked publicly about implementing the Supreme Court ruling—only for Duncan Barton’s response to drift past legal accuracy unchallenged. A masterclass in performative listening & delay tactics ▫️NHS England continues to “assess” whether its policies align with the ruling, despite repeated indications from staff and others that they do not. This lack of alignment has been confirmed by the Supreme Court and multiple tribunals ▫️Wes Streeting, NHS England does not need to wait for EHRC guidance to comply with the law. The Supreme Court has already clarified the legal position, and NHS England should update its policies accordingly and provide reassurance to its workforce. This senior NHS employee will know the EHRC have told services they are responsible for ensuring compliance NOW❕but is pretending otherwise to the board, staff and the general public. This disingenuous behaviour degrades trust and respect for the NHS Sex, the 1️⃣ protected characteristic which has been so poorly served by Board Executives across the NHS should finally be considered as equal. Dear ​🇬🇧​, ​​ ​​We junior doctors are set to launch another period of strikes for 5 consecutive days from 24-28 February. ​​ ​​Striking must always be a last resort and I’m furious that we still have to be doing this for a 10th time but with news this week that Rishi Sunak is personally preventing a resolution to the #DoctorsStrike because he doesn’t want nurses and other NHS staff to have their pay restored too — something all of us truly deserve — it’s an absolute necessity that we keep fighting. ​​ ​​It is simply not okay that a qualified doctor working a 48hr/week contract starts at £15/hr with £100,000 student debt and earns far less than our PA colleagues (no shade) who have less training and less debt. It is not okay that our NHS colleagues are visiting food banks. It is not okay that NHS hospitals are crumbling from the catastrophic defunding of the NHS of £400 billion pounds over the last decade. It is not okay that patients are suffering on the longest waiting list in NHS history at over 7.6m. It is not okay that 25,000 people died last year due to preventable delays accessing NHS emergency care. It is not okay that 24 hours in A&E is no longer just a TV show. It is not okay that millions cannot see a GP, an NHS dentist, or receive their Cancer care here in one of the wealthiest countries on Earth. ​​ ​​Until and unless we have safe staffing levels across the country then every one of these shocking failures of this government will not improve. ​​ ​​Without adequate staff, patients will not be protected and their care will continue to be delayed and denied. When someone says we need to change the NHS to an insurance system, show them this. Also, if you underfund a service it won't work as effectively. The way to fix the NHS is to fund it properly Dr Chaand Nagpaul, "Many of our European nations provide a more accessible service... But the NHS has a gross deficit compared to our European neighbours" "An average European country has 30% more doctors.. While patients wait years for surgery and months to see a specialist, Wes Streeting and Keir Starmer are threatening to cut the number of NHS specialist doctor training jobs. Most people don’t realise this, but doctors can’t just become Consultants, Surgeons or GPs on their own. They have to get a speciality training job first. These jobs are controlled and capped by the Government. So when the Government talks about cutting speciality training jobs, what they are really talking about is cutting the number of future specialist doctors in this country. At a time when the NHS already doesn’t have enough doctors. At a time when waiting lists are in the millions. At a time when patients are waiting months just to see a specialist and years for operations. Cutting the number of specialist training jobs will not fix the NHS. It will make waiting lists longer. It will make it harder to see a doctor. It will make the NHS worse for patients. Threatening to reduce the number of future doctors while patients are already struggling to access care is not just a deliberate workforce policy decision. It is a direct threat to the NHS and to the public who rely on it, coming from a ‘Labour’ Government.

In October alone, 54,000 patients waited more than 12 hours on a trolley in A&E corridors. Yet at the very same time, the NHS is turning away around 13 fully qualified doctors for every single A&E training job. The reason is simple. People might wonder, haven't you got a plan ready to go, rather than just a consultation period and talking about it?" Stephen Kinnock, "We have done more in the last 14 weeks for our health and care system than the Conservatives did in the last 14 years" "But, we are also a different government with a different culture, and that culture is recognising that you can't just deliver change from behind a desk in Westminster or Whitehall" "This change that we want to push through has got to come form our communities, our staff, everybody with lived experience and everyone who cares about our NHS that we cherish" "If you cherish something you've got to be prepared to change it. And for that to be lasting and real we want everybody to get involved, to shape it, to work with the government" "Of course we need investment in the NHS and care system but there's no point in pumping money into a system that isn't working.
