The night before Christmas seems to be long than every other night, especially to excited kids.
Made in 1933, but shown on TV through the early 1960s, my childhood era. The tone is lovely. We didn’t need to have some terrorist clown falling off Nakatomi Tower to get into the Christmas spirit.

Before the internet (and even vcrs) you were able to watch Christmas movies on 3 network channels the week of Christmas. It was a real treat in those days too.
The shared bed wasn't just charming animation—families in the 1800s-1930s actually slept this way for warmth. Central heating was rare and stoves in bedrooms were fire hazards, so clustering kids together was practical. The poem captured real life, not fantasy.
