"Synagogue" just means a gathering. Christ was pointing at specific people in his contemporary time. And the latter days they were talking about happened in the first century. He's right about godly jews and apostate jews. About a million apostate Jews were destroyed with Jerusalem in 70AD. About half a million "remnant" faithful Jewish Christians bugged out and became Christ's Church. The "end times" were about 2k years ago, not last century, and not in the future.
