One only has to see what is happening in the UK, and soon Australia (which rolls out age verification in December) and multiple other countries to realise this has nothing to do with keeping children safe, but everything to do with control of what you do, what you say and eventually over sight of every aspect of your life. The bureaucrats and the Govt are banking on your lack of tech literacy and extensive use of gaslighting.
