The OBR is forecasting inflation will average at 3.2% this year, before falling to 2.1% in 2026 and meeting the 2% target from 2027 onwards. But, Chancellor Rachel Reeves says the OBR has downgraded the growth forecast for 2025 from 2% to 1%.
