I’m always bemused when behavior like this is lauded. Don’t get me wrong, I luv how they aidedher. But in my day, this kind of thing was commonplace. On a HS field trip, we kids picked up a classmates wheelchair and carried him up and down stairs. 1/2

Same! Or we carried them in our shoulders.

Sadly, most don't realize you can rent ADA sand wheelchairs almost anywhere in the country for not much money and avoid major issues. I know, as I am disabled and just found this out a few weeks ago. This is what they look like; they are powered and usually rented by scooter stores around beach communities. There are many types, but this is an example I saved for myself.

Note to my relatives: I'm 80 years old and confined to a wheelchair. I've seen beaches, sunsets, starlight and waterfalls. Please just leave me in bed.

Love these ladies! 💪💓Most beaches today have beach wheelchairs you can use for free. You have to give your id. Just in case others don’t know. If you are staying at a hotel they will have the nearest place that has them. Usually located along the beach somewhere.

I rented the one w/o power for the beach,it was a couple of hundred dollars for a week and impossible for my 2 friends to push on beach. I admire their ingenuity.
