All you idiots saying this (made for the TV) version is better than Chris Nolan’s are morons and not serious people.

GOATed adaptation. Assante nails that cocktail of cunning yet arrogant.

Bro one of my favorite tellings of odyssey

Still the best adaptation

Epic, the line between composure and fury.

Yea this way better then Nolan long ass boring race swap and metal sick women movie

This was a great movie. Also Kurt Douglass made Ulysses in 1954 - that was also good.

Holy f*** that’s good

The one and only

Way better than the modern slop Nolan did

I know that the popular headcanon regarding the Odyssey is that Odysseus killed the suitors while naked, but I like the idea that he was dressed as a king (thanks to some magic from Athena) when he faced them.

Amo essa adaptação 🔱

I will prefer Nolan's version

How dare you stand where he stood

@Xxcarter3 Funny how I remember most of these scenes from my childhood 😭 I think I’m gonna rewatch this movie

This cracked me up watching it in high school literature class because it’s shot, direction, and acting look like a bad 70’s tv show

This one was good.

"You tried to take my world"

Remember when this movie cast a black actress as an ancient Greek character and nobody complained because not everything was treated as a culture war at that time?

Basically a near copy of the 1954 Kirk Douglas version 🥱

This was up a in the tv a lot when i was a kid right after lunch when i just got back from school. Its such a good movie. And beats the shit of this feminist deconstruction of whatever the fuck this new movie is supposed to be.

Fun fact: the suitor saying "what are you doing?" is Sal Maroni from The Dark Knight

Motherfuvker is Shang Tsung the way he went from white haired to black haired

Ya vi la odisea de Nolan y específicamente esta parte es mejor en la version de 1997 que la de Nolan pero lejos

The very best /s

In 1997, Odysseus actually knows how to draw and fire a bow.

No, not Julia Robert's talentless little brother? Try 2024s The Return with Ralph Fiennes as Odysseus — the Odyssey for people with actual taste?

Sucked back then sucks even more now.

This is the odyssey I know and recognize

I thought this was "Jason and The Argonauts", That took place after the "Odyssey"?

A atuação de MD é foda, mas eu gostei mais desse odisseo (versão 1997), ele é malandro, arrogante...

Watching the 1997 Odyssey is like seeing Ulysses return home and sweep away Nolan's 2026 Odyssey

This was the Odyssey I knew.

I just watched Nolan's remake & its very long winded & fell flat for me. There were a couple of good scenes, the actors did a good job, the movie just wasn't very good. This one scene here was so much better for how Odysseus acts, rather than the poorly shot chaos in the new one
