This is the infrastructure piece people underestimate. Agents without persistent storage are memoryless between sessions. Whoever owns the agent's file system owns the context layer.

Here’s a plugin skill compatable (sp check is broke again) solves the use case @dexhorthy requested. Gist in comments for quick snapshot of code.

the underrated part isn't the storage - it's the audit trail. agents that can read/write to Box inherit enterprise permissions, version history, and traceability. that's the thing that makes an agent actually deployable in a real company vs. a demo

Agents will read, write, and share files at 100x the volume humans ever did. Box just opened the pipe. My agent already uses Box for secure file access instead of attaching sensitive documents in emails. Smart move: don't build the agent, become the file system agents depend on.

Super helpful for managing the unstructured .MD files for your agents and helping them tap into context via the Box CLI. CLI is a new “must have” which is a funny transition when we have been hiding the CLI for so long, but now the users we are building for are AI agents

npm install --global @box/cli is such a clean move, finally agent runs can read/write Box without the weird sync hacks.

This pairs extremely well with the recent "openclaw backup create" feature. Now I can do automated OpenClaw backups to Box.

Nice! CLI access means my automation scripts can actually interact with Box properly now. The agent integration angle is smart - most file APIs are still stuck thinking about human users clicking buttons.

Hell yeah, Box CLI finally dropped. Agents just got a real cloud filesystem. npm install → auth → mkdir data/raw → upload. Done. 10 GB free is actually generous. Gonna pipe some Claude workflows into this tonight.

Cloud storage for agents is useful, but most real bottlenecks are auth flows and rate limits, not file access. Box solves storage - the harder part is still ahead.
