Allah is not a father or a mother. Allah says in Surat Maryam: وَمَا يَنبَغِي لِلرَّحْمَٰنِ أَن يَتَّخِذَ وَلَدًا إِن كُلُّ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ إِلَّا آتِي الرَّحْمَٰنِ عَبْدًا It does not befit ˹the majesty of˺ the Most Compassionate to have children. There is none in the heavens or the earth who will not return to the Most Compassionate in full submission. [Surah Maryam: 92-93] So no, we are not the children of God. This gotcha question only works with people who don't know the trap being set. And I'm pretty sure you knew this ayah from Al-Maidah because it is a response to this exact claim: وَقَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَىٰ نَحْنُ أَبْنَاءُ اللَّهِ وَأَحِبَّاؤُهُ قُلْ فَلِمَ يُعَذِّبُكُم بِذُنُوبِكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بَشَرٌ مِّمَّنْ خَلَقَ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَلِلَّهِ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا وَإِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ The Jews and the Christians each say, “We are the children of Allah and His most beloved!” Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Why then does He punish you for your sins? No! You are only humans like others of His Own making. He forgives whoever He wills and punishes whoever He wills. To Allah ˹alone˺ belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and everything in between. And to Him is the final return.” [Surah Al-Maidah: 18]

The answer is no, but muslims in western countries with many Christians feel the need to fudge their religion and kinda - sorta say allah is a type of father.

Muslims: If a Christian asks you, “Is Allah a Father in ANY sense?” Just smile and ask: “Is the Holy Spirit a Father in ANY sense?” 😭😂 If “Father” doesn’t apply to the Holy Spirit, why are you demanding a “Father” for Allah?

The king is called God’s son in Psalm 2:7. Peacemakers are sons of God in Matthew 5:9. Nobody read those literally. It hardened into biology after Greek converts brought their own gods with them.

Allah has given us more deep and closer names to call Him the Almighty all wise. We call Him our Rabb. Rabb is absolute, unlimited, perfect nurturing, but Ab (father) is, biological nurturing. The use of Ab by Allah in the past can only be metaphorical not literal.

Jesus being Muslim doesn’t mean he can't call God ‘Father.’ In Islam, Muslim means someone who submits to the one God. Jesus repeatedly prayed to and submitted to God. So the issue is not the word ‘Father,’ but whether Jesus worshipped the one God or claimed to be God Himself.
